Starting over

I used to keep a journal.  It helped me think clearly, sort out my feelings.

I used to work for a local municipal government.  I retired after 30 years!

Now, I sell houses, help people find rentals, manage properties.

I am a type A personality.  Retirement is boring!  I am only 50 something.   I am not ready to sit on the porch and rock!  I love helping people, still (I was after all a civil servant for 30 years!).

So how do I reconcile the mixed feelings I have about starting a new career after 30 years, entry level so to speak, at  a time in life when I should be looking to wind things down?  How do I cope with failing to meet the expectations of family who thought I would now be able to  relax - babysit, cook dinner every night, finally clean the house?

Journaling on steroids - aka blogging.        Hang on, I think retirement just got real!
